Don’t worry, Sam Ponder fans. The ESPN college football personality won’t be completely gone from your television sets this fall. But late Thursday night, Ponder announced, via Instagram, that she’ll be “hanging up” her sideline reporter flats for Thursday Night Football. Her reason? She no longer wants to take her daughter, Scout, away from her father, Christian, for five days a week. Needless to say, it’s a respectable, mature decision. As Ponder mentions, she’ll still be part of College Football Live, SportsCenter and College GameDay. This year’s college football season starts on September 3.

SEOUL, South Korea – Hyundai Motor Co. said Thursday it will begin selling its first self-driving vehicles by 2021 in partnership with U.S. based self-driving technology startup Aurora Innovation Inc.Within in three years, Hyundai and Aurora will bring autonomous vehicles to markets that can operate without human input in most conditions, the company said in a statement. The auto industry designates that as “level 4 autonomous driving,” just one stage short of fully autonomous driving. The partnership has yet to say how its first batch of self-driving vehicles will be used, but analysts expect they likely be for commercial use, such as self-driving taxis or ride-hailing services, rather than for sales to individual consumers. General Motors said in November that its self-driving vehicles will carry passengers and deliver goods in big cities by 2019.Aurora was founded by a former chief technology officer at Google’s self-driving car unit, a former Tesla Autopilot director and a former self-driving engineer at Uber.Hyundai has been pursuing partnerships to keep pace with changes in an industry that is being transformed by artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and other cutting edge-technologies.It earlier joined with Cisco Systems Inc. and Baidu Inc. to collaborate on internet-connected cars. It has also set up a $45 million fund with South Korea’s SK Telecom and Hanwha Asset Management to invest in artificial intelligence startups worldwide. The South Korean automaker plans to share more details of its project with Aurora during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week, where it will also unveil the brand name of a new fuel-cell SUV that will be tested for self-driving technology. The company plans to show off some of its autonomous driving cars during the Winter Olympics Game next month in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Recently the FSJ Tourism Board made a presentation to City Council regarding their role working with the City as well as their desire to change a bylaw to allow them to become a society. In 2010, Tourism Fort St. John board was developed with a bylaw that has prevented and limits potential growth opportunities for the tourism organization to operate efficiently in Fort St John. The Board made a request to Council to rescind the bylaw and allow the board to incorporate as registered Society in BC rather than a Board of Council as well as retaining ownership of the branding and name ‘Tourism Fort St. John’. The Tourism Board also requested a financial commitment in the amount of $52,000.00 annually for a three year period (2020 – 2022). The annual funding would continue to provide Fort St. John with tourism services and capacity development through the creation of a business plan, a Tap Know & Go development study, professional development, stakeholder engagement, marketing, administration costs and would take over the NE BCTourism Marketing Cooperative, currently undertaken by the Visitor Centre.Council approved the motion and a repeal bylaw will be drafted for Tourism Fort St.John Bylaw No. 2049, 2010 and a fee for service agreement developed.
Rafael Benitez revealed that Newcastle United’s willingness to stick to their game plan was key behind their shock comeback 2-1 win over Manchester City.Sergio Aguero’s goal in the opening 24 seconds of the game at St James’ Park appeared to set City on route to a 19th Premier League win this season. But things soon began to change when Aguero later had a goal disallowed after referee Paul Tierney deemed that Kevin De Bruyne had taken a free-kick before he gave it the go-ahead with City rarely troubling Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka afterwards.Benitez’s side began to grow in confidence in front of their home crowd and were awarded for their patience when Salomon Rondon scored an equaliser in the 66th-minute.Matt Ritchie then fired home a penalty in the final 10 minutes of the match after Fernandinho had fouled Sean Longstaff in the area to hand Newcastle all three points.Speaking after the victory, a jubilant Benitez praised the reaction of his squad following the very early setback by sticking to their game plan.“We had a game plan – it was not to concede a goal in the first minute,” said Benitez, according to Liverpool Echo.“The reaction of the players was important. We said in the half-time to stay in the game. The fans appreciate how we played and the way we won against a very good team. We stuck with our game plan.Chelsea hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham hopes for more Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Tammy Abraham hopes this season will be his big breakthrough at Chelsea after firing his first hat-trick for the club in Saturday’s 5-2 win at Wolves.“We were good enough to score two and lucky enough not to concede. Overall we needed to win one of these games.“I think they were surprised they scored so early and maybe they had more confidence they could win. There’s pressure and I think that was another factor – a draw wasn’t enough for them.”The win moves Newcastle up to 14th-place in the Premier League and, crucially, five points above the drop zone.Meanwhile, City’s title hopes suffered a major dent with Pep Guardiola’s men sitting six points behind leaders Liverpool and having played one more game than their rivals.FULL TIME – Newcastle United 2 Manchester City 1. However, I strongly recommend paying an extra $50 to upgrade that display to FHD (1,920×1,080), because you’re not likely to be happy with the native 1,366×768 resolution.
