SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – A kitten is safe after being rescued from a drain in Southwest Miami-Dade Saturday.The kitten was found in a drain near Quail Roost Drive and 127th Avenue.Crews flushed the drain out until the kitten was able to be saved.A firefighter later took the kitten home.Copyright 2019 Sunbeam Television Corp. MIAMI (WSVN) – Miami Fire Rescue officials are on the scene of a white powder incident at a Miami courthouse.Officials responded to the courthouse, located at 400 North Miami Avenue, Friday afternoon.According to officials, someone delivered an envelope containing an unknown white powder substance through regular mail. Standard procedure calls for hazmat crews to respond in cases like this.Six people were in the room when the mail arrived and were exposed to the substance. (WSVN) — A 16-year-old boy was killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash near Fort Lauderdale.Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the scene near Peters Road and Davie Boulevard, just after 8 p.m., Saturday.Officials said a black Lexus was traveling eastbound along Peters Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a blue Subaru. The Lexus then crashed into a utility pole and flipped over onto its roof.Sixteen-year-old Jonathan Guerra, a passenger in the Lexus, was pronounced dead at the scene.Officials said the driver suffered minor injuries and another passenger, also both teenagers, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. They were transported to Broward Health Medical Center.Those riding in the Subaru were not hurt.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
